Opened by Chairman Dale Fox and turned over to Councilman Steven Tharp.
Tharp presented one part of the Sustainability Plan which the village paid for as a framework for Economic Development. One those ideas on there was switching to LED lighting throughout the village. Tharp turned it over to Ryan Swan, a member of the Electric Department for more details.
Swan explained a handout regarding LED lighting stating that it would pay for itself in 10 years.
It was suggested by Mayor Mike Schwab the money received from First Energy could be used to pay for the cost of the LED lighting for the whole village.
Tharp stated that reinvestment in our system is good business and something to move on this year.
Swan stated it would take our electric department 2 to 3 years to do the whole village.
Councilmen Mackey, Fox, Tharp, and Hilliard all stated they were ok with it.
At this time, Mackey brought up the smart meters which were proposed before for another long term project.
The committee discussed the monetary savings and time savings.
Tharp brought up developing a JEDD or JEDZ by route 30 especially if the expansion of 30 goes through. He stated it was important to advocate for the expansion of 30. Mackey stated that they need to take care of trump rd. first. Schwab stated he met with Richard Regula and he seemed excited about the strides they have made on the matter.
Godwin brought up a safety issue. Unloading of Box trucks- he suggests we get a used tow motor up there. He says the deliveries take an extra 20 minutes. Hilliard suggested getting some pricing.
