September 8, 2014 - Parks and Grounds Committee meeting

                                     Parks and Grounds Meeting 09/09/14

 

In attendance Councilman Godwin, Hilliard, Fox, Tharp, and Mackey. Also Street superintendent         Patterson.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm at Bimiler Park at the front playground.  The committee had an open discussion on the equipment that needed to be removed. The committee agrees to remove all equipment deemed to be a hazard to children. Offhand that would be the train, the bounce single rider, and the horse bouncy. The committee would like the equipment be removed soon as possible.  The committee decided the handicap swing be put in the southeast corner of playground. The committee decided that a handicap parking space to be put at the north end of McKinley Ave. closest to the park entrance this will take an ordinance by council. The committee decided just to add mulch in the spring to all equipment areas that need it.  The council discussed the other equipment with Superintendent Patterson he would check what else needs removed. The committee then walked over to where the new Gazebo to see where it was going to be put. We all commented on the tree in the corner that is leaning towards the Moose that is hovering over several wires, the tree board should discuss it at their next meeting.  The Meeting was adjourned at 6:59 pm.
