COUNCIL OF THE WHOLE MEETING MINUTES
Monday, December 8, 2014
6:40 pm in Brewster Council Chambers
In Attendance: Councilmen Dale Fox, Chuck Hawk, Tom Hilliard, Paul Mackey, & Steve Tharp, Jr. and Mayor Mike Schwab; Councilman Dave Godwin absent
Topic: Discussion concerning candidates for the open Brewster Fire Chief position.
Initial discussion outlined briefly that the following candidates were under consideration: Chris Colucy, Jacob Goist, Jen Mohler, and Mark Murdocco. Jerry Layne, one of the initial ten candidates was revisited by Schwab
At 6:49: Councilman Tharp made the following Motion: “I move that Council go into executive session for the purpose of consideringthe appointment of a Fire Chief in the Village of Brewster” The Motion was Seconded by Councilman Hilliard, and was approved by a unanimous vote of the Council members.
At 8:08 pm the Committee came out of Executive Session and Councilman Hilliard made a Motion to come out of Executive Session. The Motion was Seconded by Councilman Fox, and was approved by a unanimous vote of the Council members.
Schwab advised that he would suggest the following Village Fire Department structure to Council at their December 15, 2014 Council Meeting: Fire Chief, one Assistant Fire Chief, three Captains, and one Lieutenant.
Schwab also advised that he plans to provide recommendations for appointments to the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief positions at the December 15, 2015 Council Meeting
