March 11, 2013 - Neighborhood Watch Meeting
The Brewster Village Neighborhood Watch meeting was held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7:00pm. A sign-in log was available and there were 10 residents in attendance along with Denise Rossiter, the Neighborhood Watch officer. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Tom Hilliard at 7:00pm. Participants were given new handouts which included a new Neighborhood Watch manual from the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Residents were given the opportunity for a question and answer session. There was a discussion about people knocking on doors while another would enter through a different window or door. It was advised that we should keep all doors locked. Officer Rossiter commented that break-ins are likely to happen during the day while people are at work. She also talked about the warmer weather coming and to keep car doors locked and personal property out of sight such as in your glove box or trunk. Mr. Hilliard brought up the personal property identification record log that is in the new manual and suggested that it would be a good idea for residents to know exactly what property they have and to even take photos. It is important to know the value of such items. Mr. Hilliard asked the group for any volunteers to take over as commander of the Neighborhood Watch Program. The next meeting is planned for mid-May and we are planning to have another picnic this year. There are always dispatch cards available with the phone number being (330) 830-4272.
Thank you. Tom Hilliard
