WAGE COMMITTEE MEETING
July 18, 2017
Committee Members Present:
Mike Schwab, Mayor Mike Miller, Village Administrator
Steve Tharp, Councilman Kris King, Clerk-Treasurer
Audience Members:
Jim Spivey Tom Hilliard

Meeting opened at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting began with the committee reviewing updated comparisons for all departments. VA Miller had provided the sheets and had included the goal wage for each position along with the wage being adjusted for a 2% cost of living.
The majority of the time was spent reviewing and discussing different concerns and ideas about the separation between the ranks in the police.
The committee reached consensus that the Water, Wastewater, and Electric Departments should be treated as separate “businesses”.
The Water and Wastewater Superintendents were discussed and consensus was to keep them at equal wages along with all the Technicians. The stipend for the Construction Foreman was being considered to be rolled into the base wage.
The Electric Lineman wages was discussed and who the Village is competing with for employees. The 2012 rate study included a 4% annual increase but that amount was never given.
The importance of rate studies for the utilities was again emphasized.
The next meeting was set for July 25th at 5:30pm.
Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kris King, Clerk-Treasurer
