VILLAGE OF BREWSTER

WAGE COMMITTEE MEETING

August 8, 2017

 

Committee Members Present:

Mike Schwab, Mayor                          Mike Miller, Village Administrator                

Steve Tharp, Councilman                    Kris King, Clerk-Treasurer

 

Audience Members:

Ryan Swan                                           Jen Mohler

 

Meeting was to start at 5:30 p.m. but two members thought the meeting started at 6:00 p.m.   Meeting opened at 6:00 p.m.

 

VA Miller presented new printouts for the committee to approve for presentation to Council.  It was discovered that the full-time Paramedic was not in the comparisons or charts for Council review.  Most paramedics also serve as firefighters and aren’t comparable to Brewster.  The VA was able to pull North Canton’s Paramedic wages and suggested Brewster be at 90% of North Canton’s wage at their four-year level.

 

Councilman Tharp suggested the VA add the job descriptions to the information for Council’s review.  The Village Administrator is also not included.  VA Miller stated he knew what he was making when he was hired and felt it was a fair wage (with the cost of living increase). 

 

VA Miller will make any adjustments or additions that were discussed and will present a binder with all the information to Council.
