Representatives from American Municipal Power (AMP) provided and reviewed a handout for an overview of the AMP Solar Phase II.

During Phase I, the original contractor fell through and AMP was able to complete the project on their own.  For Phase II, which is going to be a larger scale of Phase I, AMP has partnered with NextEra.  NextEra is a wholly owned subsidiary of DG AMP Solar LLC for up to 80 MW or more of solar facilities behind members’ meter.  The estimated levelized cost of solar will be $33/MWh flat rate for 25 years.

The benefits of the AMP project is multiple sites diversifies the risks and increases the benefits of peaking savings and SRECS.

This behind the meter power from solar is generated during the peak billing hours which creates savings for the participants of the project.

AMP is looking into battery storage but only as a possible next step.  They want to get the sites set up and running first.  The deadline for participation in the Phase II Solar Project is October 1, 2016.

Meeting Adjourned at 7:29 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
