Sherri Bichsel, Council Member
Jay Huff, Council Member
Dave Duff, Council Member
Steven Tharp, Jr., Council Member
Dave Godwin, Council Member
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Hilliard. The meeting was held to discuss the equipment audit from AMP. The village received a letter that stated OSHA required EV rating safety shoes for the village electricians. Mr. Huff asked about what safety equipment we currently have. The village administrator (VA) stated that we provide gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, chaps, and rubber goods and that the only thing we do not provide is shoes. The guys provide their own. Mr. Huff asked how many times we’ve been audited. The VA said this is the first time. Mr. Godwin had a concern that if we did not provide the workers with shoes and something happened; it could come back on council. The VA requested that we purchase one pair of shoes per employee every two years. Mr. Tharp asked about what they are wearing now. Mr. Huff asked about who would be monitoring the employees to see whether they wear them or not. Mr. Hilliard asked where they would purchase them and the VA said they would get them through Hall’s catalog. There was some concern about other departments and Mr. Hilliard suggested that we be fair to all the departments. There was a suggestion by Mr. Huff that we give $250. every 2 years and Mr. Godwin agreed. All council agreed to have the VA make a policy to file in each employee’s personal file.
Mr. Godwin wanted to bring to the attention that all trucks and vehicles have water for the employees. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50PM.
VA Hartman and Clerk Kris King were also in attendance.
