PARKS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE MEETING

MARCH 12, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Dave Duff.

 

He had quotes from Lowes and Home Appliance to replace the two refrigerators and stove in the concession stand:

                        Lowes                         =          $1302.10 with delivery

                        Home Appliance         =          $1258.90 with delivery and removal of old                                                                                                                           appliances

 

Katie Rose thought we could keep the old white one.

 

Dave Godwin said he didn't think the ball assoc would be using the concession stand except on opening day.

 

After discussion, Dave Duff said he was going to recommend buying the refrigerators and stove from Home Appliance.

 

Lighting in the park along the levy was discussed.

 

Adding a kitchenette and electric onto the closest pavilion to Field #1 was discussed along with a stage added to the park.  A gazebo and a rail car were discussed as a stage.

 

Tom Hilliard wants the shed at Field #3 fixed or removed.

 

Working up the fields was discussed.  Dave Duff asked Clerk King to have the police contact Elum for community service helpers.

 

Resurfacing of the tennis court, basketball court, and skate park.

 

Katie Rose said the Moose was having a brunch for Easter on April 7th from 10 until 12 then the rec board was having the Easter Egg Hunt inBimilerParkbehind the Moose.  She could use some help.

 

She discussed having interactive story telling, community movie nights, a community picnic in July, and a farmers market.

 

Replacing the Steiner was discussed.

 

The Mayor asked everyone to take a look at the salt barn.

 

The location of a possible gas well was discussed.
