MEMBERS PRESENT:
Brett Long, Council Member                                   Michael Schwab, Council Member
Michael Miller, Village Administrator

VILLAGE OFFICIALS:
Chuck Hawk, Mayor
Nancy Bucher, Assistant Utility Clerk/Secretary

VILLAGE RESIDENT:
Carmella Garrett, 391 W. Main Street S.W.

This meeting was to review a proposal to install sidewalks, curbs, and storm sewers  West Main, Lincoln, and Washington Streets

Council walked the area, as VA Miller explained that adding curbs and sidewalks (to both sides of West Main Street) will decrease the street size by 8 feet (from 42’ to 36’).   This step not only enables the Village to reduce costs for future paving of this street, but will connect the school pathway(sidewalks), to downtown sidewalks, and to these new sidewalks. There has been discussion with area residents.  It appears that 50% of residents want this to happen.  The goal is to keep as many trees as possible.  Some are diseased and may need removed.

The estimated cost for this project $90,000 to $120,000.  Mike would apply for grants thru the    OPWC.

Councilman Long, suggested only doing one side of the street.

The masterplan is to connect to the Navarre Towpath trail that would lead to the Wilderness Center.

Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.

Respectfully,

Nancy Bucher, Assistant Utility Clerk
