Meeting called to order by Council Member Hilliard

This meeting was called to further discuss the ongoing issue concerning on call pay and stand by procedures for the electric department.

It appears that after discussions with the Village Administrator and the Electric Department Superintendent most of the details concerning a new call out procedure are in place.

Plans to involve Hilscher-Clarke and AMP Gold Sector Support crews are in place or very close to it.

The only area left to discussion appears to be the stand by procedures for the electric department crews.

The issue of compensation was discussed at length with our HR consultant and the electric superintendent as well as the rest of the Village administration and Council.

It was proposed that a fair compensation for the electric department personnel being “on call” for half of the year would need to be considered by the Village Administration and presented to Village Council at the next scheduled meeting Monday August 17 at 7:00 P.M.

Also proposed was a change in the call out pay. Village Employees now receive and automatic pay compensation of two hours overtime for being “called out”. The new proposal would now compensate all Village Employees an automatic four hours of overtime for being “called out” after normal work hours.

Both proposals will be presented at the next Council Meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.

Paul Mackey, Council Member
