SPECIAL BREWSTER VILLAGE COUNCIL
April 23, 2015
7:00 P.M.

 

Brewster Village Council met in special session with Mayor Mike Schwab presiding.

7:00 P.M. – CALL TO ORDER

Council Members bowed their heads for the invocation provided by Clerk-Treasurer K. Kris King followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

MEMBERS PRESENT:

VILLAGE OFFICIALS/EMPLOYEES PRESENT:

Rob Pauley, Village Administrator

Tonight's Business:

Consideration to sell 1.5 miles of the 69kV electric transmission line.

VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR: Rob Pauley

Review of the sale of the 1.5 miles of the 69kV electric transmission line.  VA Pauley had a copy of the agreement and forwarded a copy to Solicitor Anthony for final review. 

Council Member Hawk asked when the Village would receive payment for the assets.  VA Pauley stated next Monday or Tuesday via wire transfer.

VILLAGE SOLICITOR: Attorney John Anthony, II

Review of the purchase agreement with ATSI/FirstEnergy Corp.: Solicitor Anthony stated it was a basic transfer of assets.  It is an "as is" sale.  The transfer is considered official as soon as the line is energized.  VA Pauley will contact Joyce Tamer of FirstEnergy as soon as the line is energized.

Ordinances Tabled on 04/06/2015 at third reading:

Third Reading: An ordinance authorizing the Sale of 1.5 miles of the 69kV Electric Transmission Line to the ATSI/FirstEnergy Corp.

COUNCIL MEMBER GODWIN MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER FOX and motion carried to untable the ordinance.  Council Member Tharp asked were the funds would be placed.  Clerk-Treasurer King stated it would be entered on a special line item created for it in the Electric Fund.  Council Member Godwin stated he was relieved this was finally going to be completed.  The vote: All yes.

ORDINANCE 14-2015: An ordinance authorizing the sale of 1.5 miles of the 69kV Electric Transmission Line to the ATSI/FirstEnergy Corp was given third reading.

COUNCIL MEMBER GODWIN MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER FOX and motion carried to pass the ordinance as read.  The vote: All yes.

VA Pauley thanked Council and presented two options of a letter to be sent out to the residents and large power customers for either the Mayor and VA to sign or Council and the Mayor to sign.  It was decided to have Council and the Mayor to sign and the letters were passed around the table for signatures.  VA Pauley thanked Utility Clerks Tammy Fox and Debbie Cline for their assistance with the letters.

COUNCIL MEMBER HILLIARD MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER THARP and motion carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:14pm.
