Dale Fox, Council Member                           Dave Godwin, Council Member

VILLAGE OFFICIALS:
Kris King, Clerk-Treasurer                             Michael L. Miller, Village Administrator

The meeting was called to discuss the rates of the elected officials. It was stated several times during the meeting that increases discussed were for the positions, not for the persons currently holding those positions.  Mayor Schwab presented a memo in which he stated that the salaries for the Mayor and Council Members should remain the same.

The Clerk-Treasurer’s next term is from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2024.

Ordinance 21-2015 set the current rates as follows:
  • Clerk-Treasurer                $37,800 plus $3,000 for not taking health insurance
  • Council                                 $  2,400
  • Mayor                                   $  8,300

It was stated that the $3,000 for not taking the insurance will not be paid starting next term.  Councilman Godwin recommended a 15% increase which would raise the salary from $37,800 to $43,470 per year.

Councilman Godwin recommended Council’s salary be increased from $2,400 per year to $2880 and the Mayor from $8,300 to $8,780.  Mayor Schwab stated that the Mayor’s position has not changed.  Councilman Godwin wants to keep small raises in place in order to not get behind in the salaries and then make larger increases later.  Some of the other Council Members stated they wished to let the salaries be for now.

Meeting adjourned at 6:28 pm.
