VILLAGE DEPARTMENTS

There are many ways in which the Village of Brewster works to serve the community.  The following are the major departments of the Village, including a description of their main functions. If you need more information on a particular Village function or service, these sections of the Web site should be helpful to you.

Administration

Responsible for overall Village operations.  Key staff members include the Village Administrator Mike Miller and Mayor Chuck Hawk.

Public safety

Responsible for all safety and emergency activities in the Village. Key staff members include the Chief of Police Nathan Taylor and Fire Chief Chris Colucy

Parks & Recreation

Responsible for the administration of the Village's four Parks, the Veteran's Memorial Boulevard, and other Village grounds is of the Village Administrator. Maintenance of the Parks and Grounds is the responsibility of Rick Patterson who heads the Village Street Department. Activities in the Parks are managed by a combination of the Village Recreation Board and the youth organizations that use the park system.

Public Works

Responsible for the major utilities and infrastructure of the Village is the Village Administrator. Key staff members include the Electric Superintendent Ryan Swan, Street Superintendent Rick Patterson, and Water Superintendent Mike Maybaugh, and Wastewater Superintendent Dan Klein.

Brewster Village Employees

These are the individuals that make it all work. Village Council, the Mayor, and the Administrator may appear to be at the head of the list, but when the work is completed, 99% of the credit must be accorded the employees that on each day, many times after daily work hours and in the most inclement weather, get the job done. Each of us must realize that electric, water, sewer, fire, ambulance, and police services, and good streets and parks don't just happen.  When you flick that switch, or turn that tap, or call 911 these are the guys that have responded.
