Utility Meeting

Discuss the 4^th Lineman: 6:30pm

Brought to a vote because Tharp thought the AMP Rep had sufficiently cleared the issue. Tharp believes we need a 4^th person. He suggested some compromises: Electrician vs Lineman- Look at pay increase if electrician license is achieved.

Tharp stated we needed someone who was versatile to meet the villages changing needs and to look at it as an investment.

VA provided a chart and explained electrician union rates. George is going to retire- we need a 4 person and send them to school for license. VA stated we would lose them for 4 years.

Bichsel suggested we hire an electrician and train them as a lineman.

VA – hire someone now making $32 for $23… they won’t do it!

Tharp- We can 1) Hire no one 2) Hire a 4^th lineman 3) Hire 4^th lineman and send them to school 4) Hire an electrician and send them to school

By taking their applications , we are leaving them hanging; next time, we may not get as many.

Tharp asked the VA a few weeks back for a list of duties. VA stated the guys were called out. Tharp stated he was unhappy because the VA does not get information to him in a timely manner.

More discussion ensued with no conclusion to the matter. Tharp asked the VA to provide the applicants with a phone call or letter letting them know we are still deciding on how to proceed.
