February 1, 2013 - Utility Committee Meeting

 

Utility Committee‐ Friday, February 1st at 1pm

Mayor Schwab, Chairman Tharp, Councilmen Huff and Godwin were in attendance. 2 members of the electric department were present as well.

Meeting was called to order at 1:03pm by Chairman Tharp. He briefly went over the proposed ideas and asked for the thoughts of the committee. He also stated he wanted to work with Councilman Duff and this discussion was merely to continue the discussion. Councilman Godwin stated we need it. We have to make sure we can provide for the residents and businesses. Councilman Huff stated he did not believe it was needed.

A long discussion ensued about whether or not we needed the policy or not. The Mayor and all members participated.

After the discussion, Chairman Tharp asked Councilman Huff to come up with a proposal of his own. Huff provided his suggestion. Chairman Tharp asked him to provide the committee with the cost of his proposal so we could evaluate all options.

Chairman Tharp concluded the meeting and the meeting was adjourned.
