EMPLOYEE COMMITTEE MEETING

MARCH 4, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Sherri Bichsel.

 

The meeting was called to discuss the hiring of a fourth lineman to replace Ken Oliver and whether or not a fourth person is needed.

 

Duff stated he is not going to hire anyone until Mr. Oliver is completely gone.

 

Bichsel asked the Clerk if Mr. Oliver was coming back.  She stated he will not be back.

 

Tharp didn't think it was going to go this fast.  He thought the VA and Mayor would look at applicants.  He asked if 4th person was needed.  He asked if load was how if was determined how many employees are needed.  VA stated that coverage and safety are more important than the number of homes that are covered.

 

Tharp wanted to know how much training was involved.  Supt. Radich wants someone that is already working as a groundman or a B Lineman.  He stated it would be nice to get someone from another municipality so they already know how to deal with residents.

 

Duff stated Oliver has not been approved for disability.  Tharp asked if there was a formal letter.

 

Tharp moved, seconded by Duff to go into executive session at 6:37pm.  The vote: All yes.

 

Duff moved, seconded by Huff and motion carried to close executive session at 6:48pm.  The vote: All yes.

 

Huff moved to allow the VA to advertise the position.  Mayor Schwab recommended to make the motion at the regular meeting.

 

Meeting adjourned at 6:49pm.
